I bought this product several years ago, and was very pleased with it for about 3 or 4 months. Since then, it has slowly lost its heat, getting cooler and cooler. Now I have to leave it on high, and wait about 20-30 minutes for it to be some what warm.
I wouldn’t recommend it, as it should do better and survive at least one winter.

Forget the blanket type, if I knew these exsisted I would have bought one years ago. Even on LOW it is all you need. Don’t waste another minute, you can have one at your door step in less than a week from Amazon.

I have the heat degradation problem here too. What is up with that? I have had several Sunbeam heated mattress pads. They all start out life getting toasty warm, but within a few weeks to months begin to lose heat (Where is the Dyson® brand mattress pad that “doesn’t lose heat-tion”?
At least the Sunbeam® (not Sunbeam®-SubName!!) brand carries a 5 year warranty. But after shipping everything off, and receiving a “remanufactured” (complete with someone else’s dust mite population?!) product, I’m not very excited about ordering these things online. I *might* get another one from a local store that will handle any problems with an immediate exchange for a BRAND NEW product. Otherwise I think we’ll just crank up the space heaters. Too bad. This is a great concept, I just haven’t seen it executed very well. Probably yet another POS “Made In China”. sigh

I ordered this heated mattress pad for my nephew who has cancer. He had been so cold from all of the chemo. He is now toasty and warm. Very timely turn around time. I will continue to order through Amazon.com for all my gift giving needs.

Much better heat control then previous brands I have tried. Preheats to perfection, and, stays in place on the bed.
